Staci Roth and Dana Brown kick off the awards ceremony by honoring the dedication of teachers and staff whose hard work is making a lasting difference in students’ lives.

Four Schools Earn TREC Accreditation as Trauma-Resilient Organizations.

Principal Hayley Mallozzi’s celebration of TREC Accreditation for her four schools was held on Friday, April 25, 2025. Honoring the heart-centered work of staff and leadership, students and staff gathered to celebrate this important milestone.

 

Staci and Dana presented TREC Awards to:

  • Hayley Mallozzi, on behalf of Alta Vista Innovation High School – Highland.
  • Sarah Sinopoli, on behalf of Alta Vista Innovation High School – San Bernardino.
  • Kim Day, on behalf of Vista Norte Public Charter – Rialto and Rialto Home Study.

The celebration was held at the Alta Vista Innovation High School in Highland, California. The ambiance and culture were vibrant, featuring a festive popcorn balloon arcade that added a joyful touch to the celebration.

Congratulations to everyone welcomed into the trauma-resilient ecosystem. TREC is honored to shine a spotlight on their exceptional, heart-centered work!

Craig Beswick, Vice President of the School Development Division at LLAC and TREC pioneer, honored and celebrated all the staff members who have become Certified Trauma-Resilient Professionals during their learning centers’ journey toward TREC Accreditation.

 

Staci Roth, TREC Director, shared an Accreditation presentation highlighting outcomes from the Strengths & Needs Assessments and SMART Goals. Reflecting on her own experience in public education, she spoke about how teachers can be lifesavers, often without realizing it, and honored the profound difference these staff members make in the lives of students and families.

 

Dana Brown, PACEs Science Statewide Facilitator and TREC pioneer, reflected on how amazing it was to be present when Assemblymember Ramos visited the Highland location in August 2022 and met with staff and students. She uplifted the team’s heart-centered work they do every day, and expressed how inspirational it is to see these four learning centers become TREC Accredited.

Congratulations to everyone welcomed to the trauma-resilient ecosystem. TREC is honored to shine a spotlight on their exceptional, heart-centered work. You are saving lives and transforming futures—and nurturing an environment of co-care filled with grace, love, and compassion.

Elevating Patient Care:

TREC Certification Empowers Healthcare Professionals to Create Trust and Healing.

Last year, TREC introduced professional development offerings tailored to healthcare professionals. This trauma-resilient certification program equips healthcare professionals with the skills and understanding needed to effect change in their hospital, medical center, and healthcare community. The training moves past theory to teach practical skills and tools to provide better patient care and care for themselves in their professional capacity (and crosses over into personal life, too). Included in the competencies of a Trauma-Resilient Healthcare Professional are recognition of these professional development achievements in skills and knowledge for the following:

PACEs Science Advocate: Understand the relationship between trauma and resilience and how they affect the overall health and well-being of patients and their families.

Equity-Focused Leader: Develop understanding and practices in creating more equitable outcomes through fair, inclusive care, addressing disparities, and promoting health justice.

Mindfulness Facilitator: Practical understanding of the benefits of meditation and mindfulness to enhance well-being, reduce stress, and support mental health for both healthcare providers and patients alike.

Community Wraparound Achieves TREC Accreditation to Deepen Their Work in Youth Development.

In this moving video, the leadership and staff of Community Wraparound share how becoming a Trauma-Resilient Accredited Organization has transformed their work and deepened their impact. As a grassroots nonprofit, Community Wraparound is dedicated to preventing gang involvement and promoting positive youth development through strong, local partnerships. Their story highlights the strength that comes from resilience, community, and their commitment to youth empowerment.

There is now a consistent approach across the entire team when everyone is working through a trauma-resilient lens.
